Sara Jordan, MD, is a gynecologic oncologist who specializes in the surgical management of ovarian, uterine, cervical and vulvar cancers. Dr. Jordan has expertise and extensive training in both minimally invasive robotic surgeries and open surgery — specifically radical pelvic and abdominal debulking surgeries, which removes most or all of a cancerous tumor. Her research focus is on the human papillomavirus (HPV) and the prevention of cervical cancer.
Compassionate and committed to improving care for women with gynecological cancers, Dr. Jordan brings more than a decade of experience to her practice at Scripps. She has received numerous awards and accolades for teaching, community service and humanitarian efforts, and consistently achieves the highest patient satisfaction scores, including Guardian Angel Awards.
Dr. Jordan is a member of several professional medical associations, including the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the International Gynecologic Cancer Society. She has published in multiple peer-reviewed journals and made many oral presentations at professional meetings.
Medicine is a family tradition for Dr. Jordan. Her husband practices as a primary care physician, and their two teenage children are enthusiastic about pursuing their own careers in the medical field.
