Scripps offers adult and pediatric flu vaccines. The vaccine is especially important for pregnant women, adults older than 50 and anyone with a chronic medical condition.
The best time to get your flu shot is September or October to ensure protection by the time the virus is circulating widely.
It’s easy to get the flu vaccine at Scripps. You have three options:
- Scripps Flu Clinics: Schedule an appointment at one of our Flu Vaccine Clinics starting August 21. You can schedule your flu vaccine through MyScripps or by calling your primary care doctor’s office.*
- Scripps HealthExpress: Walk into a Scripps HealthExpress. No appointment is needed. HealthExpress has locations throughout San Diego County.
- Primary Care Office Visit: Ask for the vaccine during your next scheduled primary care office visit. A few specialty practices may also offer the flu vaccine.
*Please note: Only the flu vaccine is available at flu clinics. If you need additional vaccines, such as the pneumonia vaccine, please consult with your primary care provider.
